Many cooperative groups work in unsafe and remote production facilities. In line with Indego Africa’s commitment to Fair Trade principles, Indego Africa provides a workplace rent subsidy to further prioritize safe and easily accessible working conditions for all artisan partners.

Indego Africa has a proven track record of job creation and economic growth in artisan producer communities:

In 2011, 67% of women earned at least $1 per day, compared to 7% in 2008.

In 2011, 65% of women and their families never ran out of food, compared to 5% in 2008.
